Programs and Services Administered by the AAARegion IV Area Agency on Aging (AAA) serves Berrien, Cass, and Van Buren Counties. We plan, coordinate and offer services that help people remain in their home - if that is their preference - aided by services such as home delivered meals, homemaker assistance and whatever else it may take to make independent living a viable option. By making a range of options available, the Area Agency on Aging makes it possible for individuals to choose the services and living arrangements that suits them best. The Area Agency on Aging offers programs that make a difference in the lives of all older adults, from the frail older person who can remain at home if they receive the right services to those who are healthy and can benefit from the activities and socialization provided by community-based programs.
Area Agencies on Aging are a nationwide network of nonprofit organizations designated through the Older Americans Act to be one-stop shops with information about programs, services and housing options. AAAs work hand-in-hand with a statewide network of 800 service providers, including councils on aging, senior centers, home health agencies, and the Michigan Office of Services to the Aging.
